Program Description:

Live abroad and gain the international internship experience you need to get hired in today's increasingly globalized economy. You have your very own set of talents, experiences, and personality traits that no one else can exactly duplicate, but how do you prove that to employers? An internship is a great opportunity to gain work experience and working in a new environment enhances those professional skills with attributes of adaptability and self-reliance. Global Experiences' programs provide the opportunity for participants to have the overseas adventure they want while simultaneously getting the experience they need. It's the best of both worlds!

Global Experiences offers internship programs lasting between 8 and 15 weeks in nearly every career field imaginable. Along with a full-time internship, interns are provided with central accommodation, cultural events and day trips, professional networking events, and on the ground support.

Every detail of our programs is carefully selected based on our years of experience and knowledge of our host locations. An internship should be hands-on, challenging, and eye-opening, right? And living abroad should be exhilarating and fun! We get that. Couple our carefully curated programming with our award winning professional career coaching, and you have an international internship program unlike any other.

The capital of Germany, the largest European nation, Berlin has been at the heart not just of European politics and culture but also world affairs for several centuries. As a city reunified in 1989, it combines a tremendous variety of experiences from fine historical buildings to cutting edge modernism, from exquisite malls to traditional markets, from classical opera to hedonistic techno partying. Berlin is a city full of optimism that epitomizes modern Germany in its forward-thinking and inclusive nature, but without forgetting its historic past.

Berlin stretches out elegantly from its heart by the river Spey to its many different districts, each with their own style and feel. From the classic architecture of Mitte to the urban cool of Kreuzberg, Berlin is a city that has something for everyone. Whilst a large city, the different districts are divided by beautiful parks, lakes, and rivers giving Berlin more bridges than Venice.

Global Experiences is expert in finding internship roles that will allow you to be part of the dynamic business world that is modern Berlin. An internship in Berlin will give you the chance to explore one of the most important cities in Europe with its rich and varied opportunities. Berlin has led the way in creative and design sectors and is increasingly becoming a new technology hub. Many of our internships are with companies looking to develop new ideas or systems for urban societies.

Global Experiences is one of the best internship programs in Berlin and provides you with a tailored internship in your approved career field. Throughout your program, we take you and your fellow interns on social excursions to allow you to experience Berlin and the local culture. You will also have free time during your program to travel on your own. Set yourself apart from your peers with an international internship in Germany.

Housing: Our Berlin program housing is either in shared apartments or in student residences. These are based in central districts.

- Single or double rooms in a shared 3-4 bedroom flat or single rooms in a student residence
- Includes a shared kitchen, wifi, balcony, a washer and dryer
- 24/7 security
- Great communal areas
- Easy access to public transport, shops, and cafes

The flat is shared with other Global Experiences interns and sometimes mixed with other students from local universities. You will take a roommate questionnaire to help us match you with the best flatmates.

Office of Education Abroad (OEA) at UNC Charlotte

Researching this Program

Many affiliate providers typically will only list minimal information in their brochure above within the OEA database of approved programs as all current information is hosted on their website. Please use the links provided above to research the program information on the affiliate provider's website.

Affiliate Provider Programs

Check out our Affiliate Provider page for more general information about what an affiliate provider is, the program and cost structure & more. Please note that the "Fact Sheet" listed above may list majors or minors under the "Areas of Study" parameter. It's important to understand that these are simply suggested areas of study, which indicates that this program may offer one or several courses within this discipline. Additionally, as course offerings can change often, the program may offer one or more courses within an area of study that is not listed in this section. Students should not rely solely on this "areas of study" section when determining whether or not a study abroad program is a good academic fit for them; it is the student's responsibility to look at the specific list of courses offered by the host university (see below) to determine whether or not courses are available within their interests and/or area(s) of study.

Application Process

Any student wishing to participate in an affiliate provider program is required to complete an additional application with the Office of Education Abroad in order to receive approval to participate in the program. Please visit our Application Process page for more information. Note that students who do not receive approval from the OEA to participate in the program will not receive academic credit, will not be able to access their financial aid or scholarships and will not have access to OEA Services.

Academic Credit

Refer to our Academic Credit page for more information on how students will be working with their academic departments to determine what UNC Charlotte equivalent course credit they will receive for the courses they take abroad.

Money Matters

It's important to understand the cost structure of an Affiliate Provider program and to then research the estimated costs of each expense. Check out our Money Matters section on our website to learn more about how financial aid works, search for scholarship opportunities and more.
