Announcement: OEA Operations & COVID-19

Both UNC Charlotte and the Office of Education Abroad (OEA) are open. However, some processes have changed due to the directive from the University to maximize social distancing.

UPDATES TO OEA OPERATIONS

Both UNC Charlotte and the Office of Education Abroad (OEA) are open, but operating in a remote capacity in response to the directive from the UNC System to maximize social distancing. Please see the following for more information:

OEA Business Hours

The physical office in CHHS 256 is currently closed. However, all OEA staff members will be working remotely during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and can be reached via email, phone and virtually.

OEA Phone

The OEA phone line (704-687-7747) will be monitored during normal business hours. Callers are highly encouraged to leave a voicemail (if prompted) with their first and last name, phone number, email address and a brief message describing their inquiry. Calls will be returned during normal business hours as soon as possible.

Drop-In Hours Canceled

Drop-in advising hours have been canceled. Instead, students will be able to schedule virtual meetings with advisors. Please see below for further information regarding how to set up a virtual advising appointment with an Advisor.

Virtual Advising Appointment Request

Virtual advising appointments are for students who have completed Study Abroad 101 and who want to discuss studying abroad. Please complete this Virtual Advising Appointment Request form. An OEA staff member will then contact you as soon as possible to set up a date and time to chat virtually.

Students who want to speak with an Advisor regarding COVID-19 or other concerns should call the OEA at 704-687-7747 or email an Advisor directly. A virtual meeting may then be scheduled as needed

Concerns Regarding COVID-19

The OEA will be updating our website here with further information regarding the impact of COVID-19 on study abroad as quickly as possible as the situation continues to evolve. Please also ensure you are monitoring UNC Charlotte’s Niner Notices. You can also see more information about the University's response to COVID-19 here.
